About IDRA

International Desalination and Reuse Association

Founded in 1973, the International Desalination and Reuse Association (IDRA) is the leading hub for the global desalination and water reuse community. As a non-profit and apolitical organization, IDRA connects members across more than 60 countries, supported by 15 affiliate members and additional strategic partner organizations that span regional and national levels.

Our diverse membership represents a wide array of professionals, including developers, off-takers, regulators, end-users, public and private utilities, engineers, consultants, media representatives, scientists, and researchers from governments, corporations, and academia. IDRA holds consultative status as an NGO recognized by the United Nations ECOSOC and is an active member of the UN-Water Special Framework for Water Scarcity in Agriculture (WASAG), under the UN FAO Land and Water Division, as well as provisional UNFCCC status.

Our mission is to champion innovative solutions to address water scarcity and ensure sustainable resources for current and future generations.
